My family experienced an overflow of our toilet that affected most of 1st floor and the entire finished basement. We had to replace all the hardwood flooring, kitchen/bathroom tile, basement carpet, kitchen countertop, and a good portion of drywall. As you can see from my profile, I’m not someone who writes a review every time I get a cup of coffee. On top of that, I’m an auditor/inspector by trade. Hence, I like to think my reviews have some value. With that stated, communication and craftsmanship are two of several qualities I pay attention to.

When I called, Adam answered immediately and set up an appointment to give me a quote for removing the wall to wall carpeting from my living room and dining room, removing tile from the foyer and powder room, removing and reinstalling the powder room toilet and installing new 3/4” thick oak flooring. He was very knowledgeable about the process and gave a fair price for all the work involved. I was impressed that his installers were all employed by AFC and nothing was subcontracted out.

Adam and his guys were knowledgeable, experienced, highly skilled, and careful. They could advise us about the best woods, finishes, etc. They were able to prop up our radiators so that we did not have to have them drained ahead of time. They were aware of our schedule and made sure to fit around that–for instance, we were in the house for the first part of the job (demo of the old floor and installation of the new floor), and then we vacated during the days they were staining and sealing.

First and foremost I would highly recommend AFC for wood flooring. I had an extensive project with many obstacles – floating staircases with glass railings, damaged flooring and this project was almost every room in the house. Adam came back to my home several times as I either added or changed things to give me an estimate and time frame on the job. And yes, he was accurate and the job was completed on time.

Adam was very helpful in guiding us on what type of floor to get and the pro and cons of each wood we picked. We decided on pre-finished Acacia wood for the hardness and also the varying color. Adam, Tom and Ned were the primary installers, and they were very professional. Each is a perfectionist – which was wonderful. The job took just under 3 weeks due to the size of the project (about 1700 square feet of demolition, new subfloor and install of new floor).

Very well. One of Adam’s workers came to look at what needed to be done, measuring and taking photos along with him for Adam’s appraisal. After we agreed to the price and specifications and set a date, Adam’s workers, Paul and Jacek, came out and remeasured and went to purchase the materials needed, bringing them back to our home that day. They started the project the next day and completed it two days later.

AFC is very professional and punctual on all commitments. In my review, I would definitely rate Greg on his professionalism on the job. He is ‘Mr.’ perfect and never let any small thing go if he is not satisfied by himself. If you have Greg and Rafael physically working at your home, I am 100% sure that you do not need to worry about anything. They are trustworthy and know their job. We have left home many days with full trust on them. In conclusion, AFC has excellent team. They have won my full confidence for future hardwood jobs.

AFC did a great job! They made recommendations on how to upgrade the appearance of the wood flooring which no other company offered during the research and quote process. AFC walked us through the process step by step, kept us up to date on a daily basis once the work started and completed the project on schedule. The work was done professionally and as promised.

We are very happy with the work AFC did. The floors look great and they did a wonderful job in matching the color to the other hardwood floor in our house. We had some leveling issues with the old flooring and AFC fixed the problem before laying the new floor. Our kitchen project was the second project we have had done with AFC Services. The first project was refinishing the original wood floors throughout the house when we purchased it last year.

Greg came to our house to scope out the job and explained their process (including their “dustless” system) and commitment to a high quality result. Agata sent us the quote, which was higher than some others, but competitive. AFC was able to schedule the job to begin the day we wanted and had experience using the water-based finish that we preferred. The crew (Tom and Alberto) showed up as promised and began work.

I was relocating to the area and buying a condo in which I wanted darker wood floors. Several hardwood floor companies told me maple doesn’t stain well, but Adam was more optimistic. He explained that maple just takes stain differently, creating a floor with multiple color tones rather than a consistent shade. I actually would prefer the diversity in shades and went for it. I’m very pleased with the outcome! A Floor Clinic did a really nice job with my floors.

A Floor Clinic was very professional. I found them a bit difficult to get a hold of at first, and they were a little slow in providing estimates, but once we agreed to hire them they were easier to contact and fairly responsive. They were very careful with their work and fairly dustless. The process was tolerable even though we were living in the condo at the time and had to move all of our possessions between rooms.

We just bought an old bungalow and the previous owners had stapled down carpeting over the oak floors in two of our bedrooms. Obviously we wanted it removed. We got bids from three vendors and A Floor Clinic came in with the best price. I also liked how responsive they were. They came out quickly to assess the job and also got me their bid promptly. One we decided to go with A Floor Clinic, their scheduler, Agata, was great and contacted me at the end of every day to keep me posted on progress.

From the first call into the company, they were professional and helpful. They came to measure for the estimate just when they said. I received the estimate within 2 days and it was less than half of a previous estimate. I went to their flooring supplier to pick out a floor sample and they were very helpful in helping me choose. They helped move out the very large furniture and worked around the bed (which there was no room left to store).

This company was very professional from start to finish. One of the reasons I selected them for this job was that they could do both refinishing and painting and were able to schedule the jobs in succession. They also helped move and replace large pieces of furniture. As promised, the floor refinishing was almost dust-free and virtually odorless. I was given status updates on a regular basis. I felt that the price was very fair for the amount of work done.

Excellent, from start to finish. These guys really know their craft – they came up with several good suggestions we hadn’t thought of. They are flexible, creative, and their work is highest quality. When two of the boards did not take the stain in the same way as the others, they made a special trip out to finish those boards to match the rest of the floor. Our floor looks gorgeous, and we couldn’t be happier. Highly Recommended!

There is no way that I could do what these guys can!! They refinished all the hardwood floors in our entire house before we moved in. The floors look absolutely beautiful. They didn’t seem to cut any corners and were definitely concerned with the quality of their work. I would advise you to have them remove the baseboard registers if you have them as they got stain on a few of them and I had to replace them.

Excellent work. The workers were punctual, professional and very courteous. They worked hard to make sure everything was done well and cleaned up afterwards. Ralph and Greg were our team we would definitely recommend them to others. Agatha was always on top of everything–professional and courteous!

Adam’s team arrived promptly, covering all cabinets, furniture & rooms. At the end of each day, the office called to confirm the time of arrival for the following morning. They removed all of the old carpeting and laid down new hardwood floors. They sanded my existing floors and re-finished them with a nice satin finish. The new and existing floors blended together nicely.

Adam came out promptly to survey the area. Within a day or so, a written estimate was sent by email and I received a follow-up call from Agata in the main office to see if I had any questions. She was courteous and helpful, and after receiving other quotes (both higher and lower), we decided to move forward with AFC. We paid 1/3 as a deposit on the first work day. They came out soon after to remove the water damaged laminate flooring and drywall/trim. They discovered mold, so we had to get that remediated by another company.

This is probably the best contractor I have ever worked with- Agata was very responsive and called everyday to see how things were going. Sometimes more than once a day- they did not cut corners, and did everything far above the standard without mention. I felt bad because I didn’t get my material (purchased online) when I thought, they were very accommodating during the middle of the job while I had to wait for material to be shipped.

When I decided to remodel my guest bathroom in my vintage (1920s) condo, one of my “must haves” was to remove the 1970s tile and continue wood floors to match the adjoining bedroom. After the initial demolition, I found that it was a much bigger job than I had anticipated…several layers of tile on top of poured cement, and under that, partial wood floors and threshholds that did not match the current configuration. I called A Floor Clinic and was impressed when Adam was able to bid the very next day.

Outstanding follow up, service, and quality of work. We had several boards replaced in our kitchen and bathroom that were then sanded down and finished to match. They were done with the project in one day, cleaned up after the work was completed, and were friendly. The process between the estimate and completed work was about a week and extremely easy.

I initially contacted Agatha on a Thurs – Greg came to estimate on Friday evening at 7pm. The work was performed on Tues and Wed of the following week. Timely, professional and they were very careful to protect the rest of the house. The finished product is flawless and the entire experience was painless. Agatha was responsive and returned calls when she promised to do so. Greg came and inspected on more than one occasion during the work. Highly recommend.

I had left messages for numerous companies just to get an estimate and AFC was the only company to actually follow through with a return call. Adam came out on the date and time scheduled, sent me an estimate by the end of that work day and they were at my house to start the work within the week. They were very courteous, friendly, punctual, and professional. We only had one bedroom floor that needed to be refinished.

This was a very large job and they did a terrific job, some mistakes were made but they were fixed in a professional and timely manner. The Adam was a pleasure do deal with he was easy to reach and was quick to respond to any questions and concerns. His workers were gentlemen and did a great job on a tight schedule. I would recommend them as well as use them in the future if I needed work done on my home.

Adam and his team are true pleasure to work with and do beautiful, beautiful work. We solicited 3 bids last summer when we closed on our Wicker Park single-family home, which needed the whole first floor and two sets of stairs refinished, and the top floor bamboo pulled out and replaced with oak to match the lower level. There was no contest. While extremely reasonable, we did receive one lower bid, but there was no comparing Adam’s knowledge, care and attention to what we needed, various options, explaining the pros and cons of, for example, oil vs. water vs. acid finishes, etc. Our top floor was a mess.

Overall, we had an excellent experience. Adam contacted me immediately after I sent in my request through Angies list and we soon set up a visit. He came in and took measurements and we discussed plans and he also gave us recommendations. Soon after we received a quote. We were pleased with the breakdown and explanation of work to be done. We scheduled the installation after that. The work only took 3 days from start to finish.

Prior to meeting A Floor Clinic, we were a little down on contractors. We had hired a contractor who installed a marble floor in our kitchen, and when that floor cracked from one end to the other in two places only two weeks later, he promised to come take a look, never showed and finally told us: sue me… Needless to say, we did our research the second time around. We got two quotes from highly rated companies on Angie’s list. Both were punctual, professional, and their quotes came in not too far from each other.

I contacted A Floor Clinic Inc by email from their website. They responded within 24 hours asking for details on the work. I sent them a photo and gave a breakdown of what I wanted. Again, within 24 hours they a price quote and answered my more detailed questions. I finally called to go over everything and they were ready to do the work the next day. I had them come 3 days later, scheduled to arrive at 7AM so that I could go to work. They arrived at 7AM precisely, did an excellent job and cleaned up all their carpentry dust.
